Wills Wing U2 160 Euros 1450.00 or Pounds sterling equivalent
This glider is in extremely good condition as it has been flown for relatively few hours and always very carefully transported and stored. All white top surface, yellow/green undersurface, white mylar leading edge and nose cone. It has the “Litestream” streamlined bottom bar.
Wills Wing describe the glider as “a very high performance glider with handling characteristics suitable for pilots with intermediate and higher levels of skills and experience.” It is not suitable for beginners or new pilots. Recommended hook in weight is 160-260 lbs. I weigh 190 lbs and it goes up and handles really well.
I bought the glider in 2005, the sticker on the keel says that the glider was test flown by the factory in January 2004. I am the second owner. It was in “as new” condition when I bought it.
I flew the glider fairly regularly from 2005 until 2008 in total about 50 or 60 hours. In 2008 I bought an Atos VR and that has been my glider of choice since then. I flew the U2 once last year. There is a video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG0TnSt2wIM. It has had no more than 2 outings a year since August 2008. I flew it yesterday, and that’s probably going to be the only outing it will get this year so being realistic, it’s time to sell it. The rest of the time it has been, in winter (October to April) inside my house in France and in summer in a well ventilated, totally shaded outbuilding there.
The sail is very clean with a few marks from when it is packed away ( see photos) , and still has a very crisp tight feel to it.
The glider comes with original hand book, 2 Plastiqual wheels with hubs suitable for the Litestream bottom bar, batten profile diagram and a spare tip wand.
The glider is located in SW France and advertised there but if anyone was going to Ager this summer and was interested, we are more or less “en route” at the village of Montesquiou, 60 miles north of the Pyrenees.
